My friend from Ithaca College was with his girlfriend visiting Walt Disney World. She had been there before, but this was his first visit. I was on break when I found out that they were at Aloha Isle getting Dole Whips and walking through the [Swiss Family Robinson] Treehouse. I told them to come to the Carpets at the end of my break in 15 minutes. When they got there they saw me, and I told them to go up the exit ramp. I was talking to them to catch up, asking about his internship with the Portland Sea Dogs baseball team (we are both diehard New England sports fans). After another Carpet cycle ended, I asked if they wanted to ride, and they told me, ‘Absolutely!’ I asked my coordinator if I could backdoor them during a 30-minute wait, and they got on and rode. Afterward, both of them gave me a hug and thanked me immensely. Later on that day after my shift, my friend told me that after seeing the Country Bear Jamboree, the Enchanted Tiki Room, the Haunted Mansion, and many other Magic Kingdom attractions, his favorite experience was seeing me at the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. He has graduated from Ithaca, but he came to visit last semester and we still talk about that Magical Moment I made for him on his first visit.
